Coming out of school with an electrical and computer engineering degrees, traffic was not my first choice. However, to my good fortune, I had passionate mentors at both school and Econolite that opened my eyes to the challenges and opportunities that lay ahead for ITS. My goal has always been to apply creativity, modern technology, and solid engineering discipline to making a positive impact in the world. Econolite has checked all these boxes for me. Plus, it is really cool to drive through intersections controlled by technology you have developed each day. There have been many interesting challenges in writing safety-critical software, developing communications for connected vehicle, integrating new sensor technologies, designing new user interfaces, and building an awesome software team. I have been very fortunate to grow in these challenges to now become the vice president of product management for controllers and look back at this journey as very rewarding.”
